About me.

Hello 👋 I'm Alex Smee, a Designer and Illustrator.

I am currently Principal Designer at AMP, part of a small team creating an exciting new brand and suite of world-class apps for eCommerce entrepreneurs.

Between 2020 and 2023 I was an Experience Design Manager at Intuit, designing new features in QuickBooks Online.

Prior to that I was an early member of the team at TradeGecko which I joined in 2014 as a seed-funded startup and helped build for six years until we were acquired by Intuit in 2020.

I have over 20 years experience in digital and print design, primarily in the tech and music industries, for clients including Universal, Sony, Island Records, Warner Music Group, Ace Records and EMI. Working in graphic design, advertising, websites, user interface and experience design, web and mobile apps, packaging, books, publications, brand identity, copywriting, photography, illustration, and animation.

Born in the UK, I have an honours degree in Graphic Design from the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. For the past 11 years I have lived in Singapore with my wife, six-year-old son, and two-year-old daughter 😀
